Dice, Husbands and Battlestar Galactica
In addition to me being a Total Fan Girl, my husband is a Total Gamer Geek. The two have a lot in common since people who love sci-fi and fantasy tend to be into games and there are so many cool ones in those genres! For example, I just received a call this afternoon from our local game store to tell me that the new Pegasus Expansion is out for the Battlestar Galactica Boardgame. Woot! You know what I’ll be doing tomorrow night.
Now, my husband doesn’t have a blog, but he does co-host a snazzy podcast called The D6 Generation and I have a segment on it called When Wives Attack. My segment gives gamer wives a chance to vent a little about the trials of being married to a gamer, and I also do game reviews and interviews with designers. My guest wife tonight, Nikki, happily dished some dirt on her husband and talked about her pet peeves, like him calling to say he’s almost done with a game and on his way home, and then calling again an hour later to say the same thing. But here’s the one that got me. At the end of the segment, almost as an afterthought, she says “And please remember to take your dice out of your pants before you put them in the wash!”
See, it really is the little things that make all the difference.
